Casting and information on your TV

SeekCast processes local network addresses and DLNA messages to discover casting requests and control playback. Your TV retrieves media directly from the source provided by your phone app. The media provider receives the requests needed to deliver that video and applies its own privacy terms.

A locally generated receiver identifier and playback history, including media URLs, titles and positions, are saved on the TV. The app's privacy controls let you clear playback history. SeekCast does not send this history or video content to its activation service. Other devices on the same network can discover the receiver while it is active.

Trial and purchase activation

The paid edition generates a random installation credential on the TV. It sends that credential over HTTPS to request trial or purchase access. The activation database stores its cryptographic hash, rather than the raw credential. It also stores trial start and expiry times, short-lived payment sessions, payment provider order and capture references, merchant reference, payment state, purchase association, recovery codes and processed notification identifiers. It does not use your TV's hardware identifier for trial activation.

The TV saves its installation credential, free-edition marker when applicable, and a signed access record for periodic online and limited offline verification. Uninstalling or clearing app data removes these local records. Purchase restoration uses the recovery code on your receipt.

PayPal

PayPal processes checkout and refunds under its own privacy terms. You enter payment details on PayPal's pages. SeekCast does not receive your PayPal password or complete card number. Our server uses PayPal's transaction responses and notifications to verify the merchant, amount and current payment status, issue access, process purchase restoration and revoke refunded purchases. The activation database does not store the full payment response or notification body.

Payment-session links, TV codes and recovery codes permit access to purchase functions. Keep them private. A recovery code can be used to move the purchase to another TV.

Website, infrastructure and support

SeekCast does not include advertising or third-party analytics. Its website and payment service do not use advertising trackers. Cloudflare hosts the public HTTPS entry point and relays payment-service requests to our activation server. Cloudflare and other hosting and network services process IP addresses and request metadata to deliver pages, protect the service and diagnose problems. The payment service limits requests by network source and records notification outcomes without storing payment payloads in those diagnostic logs.

If you contact support, we receive your email address and the information you choose to provide, which may include a transaction reference. Support correspondence is handled through our email provider. Activation and support information may be processed in mainland China; PayPal processes information under its own arrangements.

Retention and requests

Purchase and activation records are retained while needed to maintain or restore access, handle refunds, resolve support requests and meet applicable obligations. They are not removed simply by uninstalling the TV app. Contact us to request access, correction or deletion; deleting records needed to establish a purchase can affect restoration, and records that must be retained cannot always be deleted immediately.

Clearing playback history in the TV app deletes that local history without cancelling your purchase. Do not send passwords, complete card numbers or private media URLs with a support request.

Existing free edition

An existing free installation recognised during an update keeps its free access without calling trial or payment APIs. Local casting and history processing still apply. This notice covers the payment service and paid edition; existing free installations do not send trial or payment records to this service.
